[thelist] [Possibly OT] Mac Word and horizontal lines

For the love of <god> does anyone know how to remove the horizontal lines
that my copy of Word 2001 for Mac seemingly adds at random to a document.  I
made the mistake of adding one (using --- <RET>) early in the document's
life and now I've got the b**t**ds all over the place.  I can't select them
to delete them, and they're multiplying even as I type this.

Please help
