The best way I've found is to validate onMouseover of the SUBMIT button.  I
then change colors of the invalid elements using CSS.  But....after futzing
with that for a while I realized something: client-side validation is
generally a waste of time.  As you pointed out, you have to do it all again
on the server anyway.  So why load up your page with redundant code?  Even
in seriously low-bandwidth environments I've found that is still pays to
keep all data validation on the server.
