Ditto what Erik said. Additionally:

-- check the one-or-all-browsers test... all IE/Win, current player, etc

-- let that browser do the one-or-all-sites test to guard against misinstalls

-- strip the large file down to find out exactly what "falls down"

Background: Anytime the distributed software out there in the world
changes, they still need to play existing content (Netscape 6.0
notwithstanding). On Feb 1 there was the Flash Player Developer Release for
precisely this purpose, and changes for unexpected handlings were
incorporated over the six weeks leading to general public release. This
weekend an extra change was made for the ActiveX Control to handle sites
which wanted to request large loads then abort them before completion, but
there are still many of the previous Controls out there in the world.

Sorry, that would be irrelevant unless you knew that your entire audience
also had the utility and knew how to use it.
