Howdy,

IMail from Ipswitch (www.ipswitch.com) is not free but in the price
range of almost any business that can afford to run it's own mail
server. Supports all the expected standards, has web mail, and pretty
good customizable filters (block all attachments, all executables, etc.)

hello all -

i am curious to ask people's opinions about email servers based on a
windows 2000 box. as i'm not interested in running active directory for
overhead and server speed considerations so that puts exchange out. i'd
like to run a third party service perferably with pop3 and webmail built
in.

free is always great, but am curious what others' experiences have been
with any consumer sized package.
