It's not really a surprise that Python is Windows-ported.

Zope is cross-platform: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.5.1
and is (largely) written in Python.

That's not true - Python can be downloaded for Windows in a lovely, easy to
use pre-packaged binary installer:
