297mm by 210mm

A3 is exactly double the area at 410x297
A2 is 4 times the area at 594x420
A5 is exactly 1/2 the area at 210x148.5

It's a pretty neat system. Expand from A4 to A3 on a copier? 141%
enlargement (=root 2 - all dimensions are 141% of the original). And
back? 71% (1/root2). Up to A2? 200%.
