fwiw, this must be a bug that only shows up when using mssql with asp.  i
just tested a project running on cf5 and mssql and the text field isn't the
last column in the select and it works fine.

either that or my mdac is up to date based on something jonathan mcpherson
said in another response in this thread.  jonathan, any idea what version of
mdac this problem is fixed in?
