[thelist] Dreamweaver MX and CSS

Dave,
Not so. :-( Well yes and no.
I have a style sheet referenced in the head of the document.
This is not run at design time so it generally contains link
styles and maybe scroll bar stlyes general stuff that doesn't
effect the design layout. I then have text formatting and form padding
etc further down the page that is executed at design time of a fashion
in MX.

When a site build is complete I always intend to take out the
runtime code and paste it into the attached style sheet. But
when it comes to updates I'm back to square one and would
need to paste it back into the page to fix the css. So it usually stays
where it is.

As for templates the style is in the main page and not linked exeternally.
Non of my template based pages run CSS in MX but do in DW3.

I really would like to upgrade because at the moment I switch between
DW3 and ultradev 4 because both apps cannot be run at the same time ?
Apart from that I know MX is much more advanced in terms of support for
development in xml, xhtml, php etc.
But looking at the layout again of one of my template based sites just
leaves
me bewildered as to what Macromedia had in mind when they restructured
the CSS functionality.

I will bite the bullet and have another look when I have the time to play
hunt
the checkbox. I hope it really is that simple.

cheers,

Darren

also have had the same problem with style sheets, but so far have got
around it with a little fix.

then allow your own CSS scripting to work further down the page, all works
fine. When you put it on to a server, you can either take the DW
declaration out, or simply leave it in as your script will over-rule the DW
one before it.
