Right, but I was already onto my next suggestion at that point... you're
right about the location of the HOSTS file, but there's another file that
stores DNS settings (MSDN was unclear as to what exactly it did, or when it
shows up), but it's supposed to be in c:\winnt\system32\dns\. Apparently
it's some kind of text file that stores DNS info (which sounds an awful lot
like a HOSTS file), but it's something else. I don't have the URL for the
page in front of me, but the impression I got was that this folder and file
are installed by the MS DNS server, and are not part of the default Win2K
install. However, if Rudy's got the DNS software on his box, then that could
certainly be mucking things up...
