Right, Nathan. This question (order) has been asked on occasion throughout the several months I've been a part of thelist. The conclusion was a:link, a:visited, a:hover, and a:active. Others have specified placing a:hover at the bottom of (or 4th in) the list. I have found the only way to get consistent results was to place a:hover in 3rd position (as specified by w3schools and other sources).

If you leave out a:active altogether, then you won't get much action in NN4.x 'cause it doesn't read a:hover. However, N6.2.3 ~does~ read it and I presume N7 as well.
