mark, thanks for that suggestion. but after whiling away at your pretty
interesting website, i finally realized that the "sticky.html" is that
old geocities-type fixed layer solution. this may be ok if i have a
navigation bar only on one side of the page (your code even looks quite
smooth actually).

but unfortunately, our design is like this

so unfortunately i cannot this alternative. unless you have a way of
making the layer fixed in such a way that the text scrolls off below the
LOGO bar?

would appreciate any ideas.
