Uhm, no.  htaccess is strictly an Apache configuration file.

You need to use mmx in IIS to set the default pages.

Go in to the properties of the web site and go under the Documents tab.

You also do this for sub-folders.

I'm trying to do something like this:

DirectoryIndex index.php index.htm index.shtml index.html

on a Microsoft-IIS/5.0 server

I don't seem to be having any luck with it.

Does IIS use another format/another filename?  I googled a bit but
didn't find anything saying yes or no, so I'm guessing that either

a) it uses something completely different
or
b) the server has htaccess turned off
