[thelist] Temp Files on IIS Server From PDF's -SOLVED

[snip]
Jay, what are the temp files named and what are their extensions? Sounds to
me like something is being invoked on the server-side which is really a
client app and is perhaps being closed or crashing before it has time to
clean up its mess. We serve up millions of PDFs every month and have no
issues with temp files (WinNT 4, IIS4, Acrobat 5).
[/snip]

The problem was found much like you described it Chris. An electronic
catalog provided by an outside vendor was uploaded to the web site and
contained a method for automagically invoking the installation of Acrobat in
the event a .PDF file was clicked on. As to whether it crashed or not has
yet to be determined, but the problem has been removed. Not to mention the
potential security problem posed. Or licensing problem.

Thanks,

Jay
