I think Flash or MP3 would be best. The problem with Windows Media is
that there is almost no Mac players or no Linux players at all. A WAV
or AIFF is cross platform but a Windows Media File is not.  What
about and embedded Real Audio file?

Again I would have all audio optional and stopped at the begining.

Unless I am on a flash site I will leave sites that have embedded
audio playing as a default.
