[thelist] one user having emails deleted automatically (ex2k)

hi.

one user on our network is having his emails deleted automatically. we
use exchange 2000 and outlook 2000. there are no limits or automatic
cleanup jobs for exchange. and as far as outlook is concerned he is
using a new install (from a new computer) with everything set at it's
default setting.

we also have virus scanning software on every server and workstation.
there are no scheduled scans. although i don't think the problem is the
virus software, there are no exclusions set for the client on our
exchange box to not touch the M: and such. however, like i said i don't
think this is the problem because no other users are having this
problem.

according to exchange he as about 15.5k emails in his box at about
232,000 kb. doesn't seem so big that exchange would freak out and delete
his old messages.

does anyone have any ideas as to what could be happening? or at least, a
direction in which i should be looking? i'm totally stuck.

thanks,
chris.
