that was pretty informative. and makes a lot of sense too.

i think i ran into a problem with the ISAPI tool at cfdev that ben
mentioned with regards to the MS URLScan tool. i don't think it liked
the . in the URL. actually wait... maybe it was that frontpage didn't
like it. (one more reason to do away with frontpage here at work.)

.jeff i don't know if you work with IIS or not, but if so, do you have
any recommendations for other URL rewriting programs?

to anyone else, any tutorials on using the 404 page to rewrite the url
taking into account the proper response codes?
