[thelist] Local XHTML/CSS Validator

sorry if this is a repost, but it seems the list was down last night...

this is a rather specific request, but does anyone know of/use an
XHTML/CSS validator that runs _locally_ on an OS X (or other Unix-ish)
machine? i'm getting tired of fooling around with W3C's web interface,
and would like something that's fast and accurate.

i found a promising-looking app (http://www.outcast-media.com/), but
naturally it's just calls the W3C web version, so local urls (i.e.
http://ceres.local/foo/bar) aren't processed, making it useless.

short of setting up the W3C validator locally (which seems possible,
but reasonably complicated), are there other solutions out there that
i'm not googling well enough to find?

tia,
