[thelist] FW: XHTML - Nexted Divs

I'm really sorry - I've fixed it!
The problem was that I had nested the <div> tag in a <p> tag. So I moved
the div tags outside of the p tag and it now works.
But I have no idea why - does anyone else know?
Thanks & Sorry for not investigating this problem more fully before
asking questions!

Subject: XHTML - Nexted Divs
Hi,
Was wondering if anyone could help me with a bit of validation
technique.
I posted a message titled "Mozilla - float right" withing the last
couples of weeks - basically I was having problems with Mozilla
displaying my page correctly. I was informed that it was prob as my
page didn't validate with the Doctype I had specified. I have been
looking in to getting it all to validate (no uppercase tags etc etc) and
it all works fine apart from these errors :
Below are the results of attempting to parse this document with an SGML
parser.
Line 34, column 23: document type does not allow element "div" here;
missing one of "object", "applet", "map", "iframe", "button", "ins",
"del" start-tag
<div class="band"><a

But I have no idea what is going wrong here!!
The URL for the validator is :
http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.phiniusgage.com/html/index.
asp (wrap??) My page URL is http://www.phiniusgage.com
Any help would be much appreciated
Thank you!
