I love Wiki.

Not everyones idea of a user-friendly navigation scheme though, novice
users tend to get lost easily.

I think a well supported wiki with a moderator creating user friendly
navigation could be very effective.

I like WikkiTikkiTavi: http://tavi.sourceforge.net/ which generates
valid xhtml1.0 strict pages using PHP/mySQL it's in use by the CSS-d
list
http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=FrontPage

However, like all group projects Wiki's depend on the group effort to
contribute and update content.

The best application would be one that sucked experiences out of your
brain directly and stored them in a synaptic network for instant recall
from the slightest clue.

One day?
