Many people when starting new thread on mailing lists simply reply to a random
thread.  Some programs, including the evolt archives[1] allow you to view the
mailing list by thread. However if you reply directly to another thread and
change the topic it remains in that thread.

It all comes down to the 'In-Reply-To:' header, which contains the references
to the previous mails in the thread.  So please, if you're creating a new
topic/thread, remove the 'In-Reply-To:' header.

A lot of mail software supports 'threading' in it's software. This allows you
to view mailing lists in a threaded environment, making it much easier to
follow discussions.
