Not documents as such, but it's worth prowling through the tip harvester

<tip author="Garrett Coakley" type="*nix 'cal' command">

Most *nix systems come with the 'cal' command which is a simple command
line calendar. If you call it without any arguments it outputs the
current month.

[garrett at cincinnati] garrett $ cal
    January 2003
Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa
          1  2  3  4
 5  6  7  8  9 10 11
[snip]


You can also specify a particular month/year by calling it like so (Oct
2005)

[garrett at cincinnati] garrett $ cal 10 2005
    October 2005
Su Mo Tu We Th Fr Sa
                   1
 2  3  4  5  6  7  8

'cal' also comes with a very handy Julian date switch, so for instances,
if you wanted to find out how many days will have elapsed in the year on
the first day of October:

[garrett at cincinnati] garrett $ cal -j 10 2003
        October 2003
Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
            274 275 276 277
