IP obfuscation is a pretty poor term for it, except if we're talking about
Internet Explorer

what is IP obfuscation, you ask?

it is the conversion of the "dotted quad" notation for IP numbers, e.g.

       http://216.119.117.224

into a single integer, e.g.

       http://3631707616/

there's some javascript code for the conversion here --

   http://javascript.internet.com/equivalents/ip-obfuscation.html

but my question is this: how come Internet Explorer doesn't understand the
single integer convention?

all the other browsers i've got understand it

is it some sort of setting i'm not aware of? i'm on win2000pro ie6

or is this why they call it obfuscation?
