Hi Gina,

Here are some links that may help...
http://www.computerhope.com/tracert.htm#01
http://www.dnsstuff.com
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=ginaanderson.com

However, looking at your trace (successful vs. nonsucessful),
...
 17 101 ms 117 ms 114 ms 64.245.101.10 (This is Everyone's Internet,
Inc. Houston TX, NS1.EV1.NET--Looked up)
 18 109 ms 144 ms 139 ms 207.218.245.37 (This is Everyone's Internet,
Inc. Houston TX, NS1.EV1.NET--Looked up)
 19 * * * Request timed out.
...
Have you done anything recently to your site and the DNS settings? changed
domains? changed servers? Sometimes DNS caching can last up to 48 hours.

Here's a successful one:
...
13 207.218.245.37 (207.218.245.37) 58.789 ms 58.746 ms 58.552 ms
14 server6.usethisnameserver.com (64.246.26.55) 59.036 ms 59.175 ms
59.04 ms

>>>>>>>>>>
Now, the last two hops on the above are Everyone's Internet, Inc. Houston
TX, NS1.EV1.NET. Why can I get to 207.218.245.37 and not
server6.usethisnamever.com--when all the other locations I tried can???? To
me, this makes no sense.

Thanks for any input,
Gina

This is weird though. Your failed tracert hit #17 64.245.101.10 was
Allegiance Telecom Companies worldwide
(http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=64.245.101.10) and #18 was
Everyone's Internet
(http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=207.218.245.37). #13 and #14 were
also Everyone's Internet. The 64.246.0.0 domain was added later, but I'm not
sure how that will help you.

Thanks again to dnsstuff.com, here's a tracert:
1. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/tracert.ch?ip=ginaanderson.com
2. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/tracert.ch?ip=207.218.245.37
3. http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/tracert.ch?ip=64.246.26.55

Both 1. and 3. work. 1. was your failed search. 3 was your successful
search. There could be something else along the way preventing a tracert to
ginaanderson.com?

HTH,
Rob.Smith
