I don't know if this qualifies as just a pop-up killer product but
Phoenix Browser (Mozilla, source base actually) performs this function
impeccably. It closes unauthorized automated pop-ups. It knows how to tell the
difference between onClick and onLoad events. You can allow desired sites
to open
pop-ups as well.

The source code is out there so you can check it out if you want. And on
top of that,
the browser is safe, secure and fast ;)
