You might want to consider CVS. I doubt it'd be any easier to set up, but
there is a windows client.

I have a few sites that are updated via CVS. I absolutely love it. I
haven't been able to set it up successfully on my FreeBSD server and have
only been able to use other peoples' setup; however, if you can get it
working, it's great.
