Your nav doesn't work in gecko-based browsers.  My first thought on what the site needs when I visited was "content".  As far as I knew it had none.  It wasn't until Rob posted commenting on this and that that I thought to check in IE.

That aside, I have qualms with the (d**ned) flashing amazon banner.  Don't like the web ring thingie either (why even bother? traffic? friends in the ring?).   I would really suggest throwing some splashes of color into the site.  If color scheming "ain't your bag, baby" try: http://www.tigercolor.com/ they've got a great tool I've been using to much benefit.
