[thelist] Phpmyadmin not showing correct privileges [SOLVED!]

Many, many thanks for the replies from everyone.  I managed to solve my
own "problem".  What I was doing was looking at the global "user" table
rather than the local "db" one when setting database level privileges.
So, basically, my own inability to properly read the instructions was to
blame.  In case there are any others on the list new to MySQL and it's
privelege system, the document which lead to that lightbulb moment is

Putting in crazy hours at work all day?  Then coming home and maybe
putting in the same amount of hours afterwards?  Unless you absolutely
have to put those hours in, don't.  Take a break for an hour after work
before starting anything else.  Or, at least take a 5 minute break
during every hour or so of work.  Taking time out definitely helps more
than staring at the screen trying all sorts or solutions until something
eventually works.
