[thelist] registrar problems - switching?

Hi,

I've have a second go-around with problems with Register.com in that
they have somehow corrupted my DNS. My host told me:

"Apparently the registrar for your domain, Register.com, has
corrupted the master DNS record for your domain at the root
registry so that it is no longer querying your actual authoritive
DNS servers here at AMZ Web Hosting"

This is the second time this has happened. This means my sites
periodically are unavailable - which blows. They have done this with
ALL 3 of my sites I have registered with them.

AMZ is suggesting GoDaddy.com as a good alternative. I have heard the
name tossed around before. She says the only bad thing is they try to
upsell you a lot of stuff.

Could I get some suggestions here? Should I switch? I'm not happy at
all with Register.com but what is involved in switching registrars?
Any downtime? Sounds like a big pain..

Secondly, who should I go with? GoDaddy? Other companies anyone?

Network Solutions? (HAHAHAHA..no..no..serious suggestions only...)

TIA

Tom
