Because:
 - the pages rely on faulty browser detection:
<http://devedge.netscape.com/viewsource/2002/gecko-useragent-strings/>
 - you may using different builds of that rendering engine (for example,
the latest official Firebird is 0.6.1, which is based on Mozilla
1.5a/Gecko 20030728, whereas Mozilla 1.5a uses Gecko/20030718).
 - you have extensions installed that affect the display

However, these should create only minor display differences, even
Mozilla 1.5a and Netscape 6.0 render pages quite similarly. Can you show
some examples of a page where Firebird and Mozilla differ?
