This comment reminded me of something. I have OSX and Flash MX and I
started having problems with the _sans typeface. I started having
trouble everywhere that _sans, sans-serif or Helvetica was being used,
including Flash, Web sites, Apple Help and email. I searched for a long
time before I learned I had to remove Helvetica fonts from my fonts
folder. You may be starting to experience this problem as well. Thought
you might like to know.

Flash is proprietary and binary and there is no way to create it
without the Flash application. There are other apps that make flash,
but you cannot code it by hand. Macromedia is working on a new Flash
application tool that will create Flash with XML-style syntax. I saw a
demo at the JavaOne convention. It is not out yet, and they had no
information about how that XML-style syntax would be created. There may
be a demo on their web site, but I can't recall what the code name for
this new product was.
