It seems *you* are the one who is more than a little passionate about this
incredibly trivial issue, and condescension doesn't strike isn't
particularly mature.

Frankly I think the use of the word "crock" was overdone too. Shall we
have a thread on that as well?

As I have already said, this was not meant to be a full discussion about
what I found to be lacking in Notepad. I *assumed* that people would
agree that Notepad is pretty terrible due to its several limitations. It
was an off-hand comment that has been blown *way* out of proportion.

I don't give a fig whether you like Notepad or not. I don't care whether
you think Notepad is the greatest invention since 'vi' I don't care
whether people want to get all hot & bothered about Notepad at all.

A question was asked. I was trying to find a good solution to a stated
issue. UE offers a much better solution than is possible in Notepad,
which I assumed was being used (come to find out in a followup post that
we all misunderstood what was being asked).

Then I was asked to give a better answer about how to make UE more useful
for this case, and I've done so. And yet *STILL* people are talking about
#&(*!@&#(* a side comment I made about Notepad.

You're right, it does sound like some people need to grow up. You're
defending NOTEPAD for crying out loud. Who cares?!?!?! Is there not
enough real traffic on the list that we need to sit here and analyze
things to death?
