this is consistent with my recent experience with a client that needed to
buy mssql2k as well.
also, you can save yourself a bundle by doing the following:
a) don't buy it direct from microsoft. there are a
ton of sources from other vendors who have bought
licenses in bulk and sell them at deeply discounted
rates.
b) only buy the enterprise version if you actually
need the features it provides. most web apps do
not.
