That's two of us that have suggested this but it might not fit the bill

For ease of application having "surrounding/inherited"  coloured links ( 
not visited) underlined
and non underlined "surrounding/inheritd" coloured VISITED links would 
result in invisible links yes?

Not sure how mouseover would cope unless not assigned?
