[thelist] Canon DR 5020 for imaging solution question

Hello evolters everywhere,

Does anyone have experience using the Canon DR 5020 scanner for
digital imaging?

Here's our setup:

We're a mortgage lender and have approximately 100 files per month to
scan, and each file is 300-500 pages, legal and letter mixed.

We want to image all that on our own, using the standard software
that comes with the canon and I'd write server software for file
retrieval and forwarding. 

We normally resell the files in batches of 20-50 to larger investment
companies, and they *prefer* electronic format.

Or, for those with experience in the matter, should I just go with
MISMO-compliant xml files?

I know it's a mouthful, but I have faith in you guys.

Any solution would be considered, we haven't bought any equipment
yet. Win2k3 preferred but can do linux too.
