If the usual adware and spyware cleanser apps don't work, you might try 
this:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/bhod/

it will root out all the "browser helpers" installed on your system and 
allow you to identify and disable them.

Once you've id'd any that you don't recognize a quick google will probably 
turn up a specific removal tool.
