[thelist] How to search for a word + dash in google?

I want to search for the phrase "passwd-" but get results if I'd just
searched for "passwd", I release that this is because the "-" has a special
function on google, but can anyone suggest a method of forcing it's
inclusion in the search text itself?

I've tried (amongst others):
passwd-
passwd--
passwd+-
passwd+- -passwd

and others I can't remember!
