On PDFs again

My "customer" has a word documrnt

I have replaced his scanned in letter head with text where text appears in 
the scan BUT
I really want to know the best format for the company logo in terms of dpi 
for scanning for subsequent
printing out in the office by recipients.....

Anyone advise?
