[thelist] ASP to populate .js file?

Hi Everyone,
 
Is it possible to use ASP to dynamically populate a .js file? I have some
JavaScript that is powering my drop down menu, and I want to be able to get
records from my database, and plop them in there as needed. Any way to write
to the .js file through asp?
 
Or alternatively, if I rename the file.js to file.asp, and then do some SQL
queries from there, will it still function as a JavaScript file?
