One way to do it would be to load php as a module:
just add these lines to httpd.conf:
LoadModule php4_module C:/path/to/php4/sapi/php4apache.dll
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .php3
and maybe you might want to adjust your
DirectoryIndex
to include index.php or some such ...
