the only valid reason for blaming the client is that they most likely
signed off on the site prior to launch, which means they accepted the
site as it was. this is just one more reason why email links should be
avoided. use a form instead that relies on a server-side script to send
the mail. you are /forced/ to test it out and make sure it works. not to
mention all of the other benefits, such as not exposing your email
address to spammers.
