I lead the user interface development for all Web applications in our
line of business (health and human services). UI design and development
is all done here. Everything else is done in India, so I know firsthand
that what David says is correct.

You must understand the client's culture in order to build a helpful,
usable UI. You are not going to get that if the UI is developed
offshore.

UI design is the one area of Web development that I can honestly
describe as /safe/ when it comes to jobs being sent offshore.
