I have forgotten a htaccess password and can not access the server is

I think you will not be able to retrieve your password.
.htaccess usually gets passwords from .htpasswd file.
Passwords are encrypted and I think that you can not
get the original string from the encrypted one. The best
solution is to ask your administrator (or do it yourself) to
enter new password for you in .htpasswd file.
