i realize that a privacy policy is a
good thing and will be put in, right when i get home. anyone have a
link to what this should look like, or is there a standard copy for
it.

mmm... you should try using Google, e.g.
http://www.google.com/search?q=privacy+policy+guidelines
http://www.google.com/search?q=create+privacy+policy
http://www.google.com/search?q=privacy+statement+guidelines

I like the look of:
OECD Privacy Statement Generator
http://tinyurl.com/5ybrs

also

http://www.truste.org/
The TRUSTe program's Web site used to have a Create a Privacy
Statement Wizard but I can't find it now. All I can find is some
specialised reports:
http://www.truste.org/about/privacy_guidelines.php

http://www.privacyalliance.org/
The Privacy Alliance have several guides for webmasters
http://www.privacyalliance.org/resources/ppguidelines.shtml
http://www.privacyalliance.org/resources/OPA_brochure.pdf

cheers
