[thelist] Avoiding getting sued

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience preventing/defending against potential
defamation issues arising from online reviews?

My site www.dubdoctors.com is a directory of classic Volkswagen specialists
in the UK. I have a reviews system ready to go but I'm not sure where I
would stand from a legal point of view if a review contained libelous
material, so for the moment it's switched off.

The system includes an approval step so reviews cannot go onto the site
without my say so.

My next port of call is my local library, but I just thought I'd run it by
the mighty evolt brain.
