Though this is the likely cause, the other question is the server's ability
to serve byte ranges, which is how Acrobat does this. If it can't (won't?),
then this feature doesn't work.

I'm using Reader 6.0, so YMMV with this, but look in Edit>Preferences for
the Internet settings. Within that, you should have "Allow fast web view"
and "Allow speculative downloading in the background" checked. I don't
believe this is server-specific, but I could be mistaken.
