hehe, after thinking about it further, potential can of worms opening up here, with a lot of back
office infrastructure support potentially required.

KISS principle applies I think: Initially if UK only simply clearly say UK sales ONLY.....

Things to put on your consideration list:

1st and foremost: UK Licensing laws and cost of compliance - you may need physical premises, local
authority consents.....restrictions on shipping hours etc...

2 VAT considerations, documentation ( especially for export sales )

3. Advertising restrictions

4. Cross border documentation and shipping requirements, customs clearance, agents etc...

5. Import restrictions

6. Foreign exchange management, accounts, receipts, pricing........

7. National legislative and licensing requirements

: Are there any specific rules to selling alcohol on the web?
:
: I assume laws are going to be different in different countries just to
: make it even more interesting?
: Initially the site will be UK based, but at some point probably aimed at
: the US and other markets too.
:
: Is there anything I need to watch out for, like making sure you only
: sell to 18 year olds (IE by accepting credit cards only or something?).
:
: Cheers
