Have you looked at the Fusebox Lifecycle Process (FLiP)?

It's lighter weight and less formal than something like RUP, and doesn't
come with exact templates for deliverables. It does try to define goals and
types of deliverables for each stage in the process, and how the thinking
about the project gets turned into code. It's moderately low level, in that
other approaches to understanding the business may be needed to front end
complex projects.

Still helpful, and in use in the real world.
