Not to be rude or anything, but have got to be kidding with this
question. If you are asking what a directory is then I strongly
suggest you go and take a computer course before trying to create a
website. There is obviously some fundamental knowledge that you are
missing here. In addition, a quick Google search will bring up the
answer to your question. If you do not know what Google is either,
then you are really in trouble.

Here is a little tip from "How to Ask Questions the Smart Way"[1]

Before You Ask

Before asking a technical question by email, or in a newsgroup, or on
a website chat board, do the following:

   1. Try to find an answer by searching the Web.
   2. Try to find an answer by reading the manual.
   3. Try to find an answer by reading a FAQ.
   4. Try to find an answer by inspection or experimentation.
   5. Try to find an answer by asking a skilled friend.
   6. If you are a programmer, try to find an answer by reading the source code.
