: [snip]
: So, if we google for common file extensions, that might give us an
: indication
: of the popularity of that technology, but hardly anyone gives their
: files
: "ColdFusion" as an extension, or "VBScript", so searching for those
: terms
: alongside PHP or ASP isn't going to give us meaningful data to compare.
: [/snip]
:
:
: The search for ASP also turns up a lot of pages about snakes, the
: 'official website of the olympic movement', and some other intersting
: waypoints on the web. Aren't snakes inherently bad? :)

The Olympic site (www.olympic.org) comes up because pages within that site
use the .asp extension.

I can't find any sites/pages related to asps (as in the snakes) in the first
10 pages of results, so I doubt that has a significant impact upon the ~323
*million* hits for the search term ASP. Searching for: ASP snake returns only
~737,000 hits.

Cheers
Ken
