Since the nav is floated and not positioned, it shouldn't (and doesn't) 
make any difference, actually.

However, Roberto's post reminded me to try position: relative; on the 
navigation bar, which also seems to fix the problem without requiring a 
width on the content div.

I personally feel that using position: relative; on any floated element 
is probably good practice as a general rule to avoid a variety of issues 
in IE.

Does anyone know of any drawbacks to applying position:relative; to 
floats as a default measure?
